Sean David Palacios, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a neuro-otologic surgeon who treats disorders of the ear, hearing and balance, and tumors which affect the skull base.
Dr. Palacios is fellowship trained and board certified in Neurotology/Skull Base Surgery and Board Certified in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (Ear, Nose, and Throat). He is a diplomat of the American Board of Otolaryingology-Head and Neck Surgery and has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is well practiced in the evaluation and medical/surgical treatment of problems related to the ear, including sudden hearing loss, tympanic membrane perforation, ossicular chain problems, otosclerosis, cholesteatoma, exostosis (“surfer’s ear”), single-sided deafness, Ménière’s disease, tinnitus, vertigo, eustachian tube dysfunction, cochlear implants, bone anchored hearing aids, pituatary tumors, acoustic neuromas, and conductive and sensorineural hearing loss. Dr. Palacios also specializes in medical/surgical treatments of sinus disease and allergy.
Dr. Palacios is a native of Las Vegas. Upon completing his undergraduate training at the Universtiy of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) he went on to achieve his doctorate degree in medicine from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Palacios obtained a grant from the National Institutes of Health to conduct research at the University of California, San Diego in the area of cellular and molecular biology of the middle and inner ear. Upon completion of his research he underwent a year of general surgery internship training at the University of California, San Franciso-East Bay and the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Dr. Palacios stayed at UCSD to complete his four-year residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery followed by a two-year clinical fellowship in Otology, Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery.
Dr. Palacios has returned home to Las Vegas to establish the Nevada Ear & Sinus Institute. It is his goal to build a center for excellence in treatment of the most complex diseases of the ear and neurotologic system.
Dr. Palacios has published numerous papers in peer reviewed medical and surgical journals. He has presented research at many national and international meetings in his area of expertise and continues to do clinical research based out of his institute. Additionally, Dr. Palacios enjoys mentoring students from the local universities as well as volunteering his clinical skills in third world countries.
Dr. Palacios and his wife enjoy world travel, SCUBA Diving, hiking, and high altitude mountaineering.
Dr Manthei attended The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan and in 1985, received his medical degree from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Chicago Illinois. He served his internship at Mt Clemens General Hospital in Mt Clemens, Michigan, and completed his residency in general surgery and Otorhinolaryngology-Facial Plastic Surgery at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. In 1993 Dr Manthei was awarded Board Certification in Otorhinolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery.
His extensive surgical background in Facial Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery and in the treatment of sinus disease has given him a reputation of excellence in his field. Dr Manthei is frequently invited to speak at many local and national meetings, and holds several university teaching positions.
Married with four sons Dr. Manthei spends most of his free time with his family. As a past president of the medical society he lectures and teaches medical students and local family practice residents. Dr. Manthei is very active in the Catholic Church, and serves as founding chairman for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He enjoys skiing, sports fishing and softball year round.
Terrance J. Kwiatkowski, M.D., is a board certified and fellowship trained ENT surgeon, specializing in advanced ear and sinus surgery. Dr. Kwiatkowski attended medical school at State University of New York – Downstate Medical Center, where he graduated magna cum laude and was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He was accepted into a prestigious residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania where he received extensive training in advanced and complex sinus surgery. Dr. Kwiatkowski completed fellowship training in Neurotology and Skull Base surgery at the University of California - San Diego.
Dr. Kwiatkowski has become one of the leading Las Vegas ENT & Sinus doctors, providing nasal, sinus, and snoring relief through extensive utilization of minimally invasive techniques, including in-office balloon sinus dilation (balloon sinuplasty) and associated procedures that allow his patients to experience minimal down time (usually less than a day).
As a direct result of his comprehensive training, Dr. Kwiatkowski is comfortable with all ages and complexities of ENT patients. Dr. Kwiatkowski's main focus is on minimally invasive sinus care.
Candice Yip, M.D., is a general ENT surgeon and treats patients of all ages with a wide array of diseases such as sinusitis, allergies, deviated septum, enlarged tonsils and voice disorders. She performs salivary gland and thyroid surgery as well as sleep apnea surgery with the Inspire hypoglossal nerve stimulator. Dr. Yip attended the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor where she graduated with high distinction and was elected into the national Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She graduated from medical school at the State University of New York - Downstate Medical Center and was accepted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. During her otolaryngology residency at Rutgers University, she received an extensive and well-rounded training in all ENT disorders. Originally from New York City, Dr. Yip left the cold winters behind for the sunshine. She is a native English speaker, learned Spanish as a second language and is now working on her Chinese. Aside from medicine, she likes to cook, play strategy board games and travel the world.
Ms. Dawn has always had a strong desire to help and care for others. She started her medical journey, as a medical assistant in an ENT office here in town, while attending college. She graduated in 2003 with her BSN degree from UNLV. As a registered nurse, she specialized in pediatric, pediatric intensive care, pediatric hematology/oncology, and ambulatory surgical services. While working in an ambulatory surgery center, she became familiar with the various ENT surgeries, in the preoperative, intraoperative, and recovery departments. After 13 years of nursing, she decided to go back to graduate school to earn her master’s degree. She graduated in 2015, also from UNLV, with her MSN with an emphasis in family practice. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is also a member of the Honor Society of Nursing (STTI). Dawn is a native Las Vegan. She has a six year old daughter and two dogs. She likes spending time with family, traveling, exercising, and cooking.
Carl Wilson, PA-C, is a graduate of Touro University PA program in Henderson, Nevada. He was trained as an ENT PA at Nevada Ear and Sinus Institute after graduation and briefly left to work in Washington State, then returned to Las Vegas in 2020. Carl lived in Idaho for 10 years, where he achieved his undergraduate studies from Idaho State University, Pocatello. He was born and raised in Huddersfield, England and first came to the United States as an exchange student in 2003 while studying for a bachelor’s degree in American History. Carl, his wife and twins enjoy outdoor activities and travel.
Greg grew up in Chicago and studied microbiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He attended physician assistant school at Touro University Nevada in Henderson where he was inducted into the Pi Alpha Honor Society for physician assistants. During PA school, Greg enjoyed working as an anatomy tutor and served as the director of operations of Touro’s Mobile Health Clinic, where he had the opportunity to medically assist and support the underserved in Las Vegas. In his free time, Greg enjoys camping, hiking and playing ultimate frisbee and soccer.
Daniel Ledee is a board certified audiologist who has been with us since spring 2018. He did his undergraduate studies at Valdosta State University before completing his doctoral degree in audiology at the University of North Texas. Dr. Ledee specializes in hearing, balance, tinnitus, and psychoacoustics.
Marissa Schiber is a licensed dispensing audiologist and holds a certificate of clinical competence in audiology through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She works with patients of all ages, and specializes in hearing, balance and tinnitus. Dr. Schiber is originally from southern Illinois, about 30 minutes outside of St. Louis. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in speech pathology from Texas Christian University before going on to complete her Doctor of Audiology at West Virginia University. In her free time, Dr. Schiber enjoys reading, golfing and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals.
